Advances in
Number Theory and Random Matrix Theory

June 5 to June 8, 2006

at the

University of Rochester, Rochester, NY, USA

organized by

David Farmer, Steve Gonek, and Chris Hughes

This conference, sponsored by the University of Rochester, the American Institute of Mathematics, and the National Science Foundation, will be devoted to to exploring connections between Analytic Number Theory and Random Matrix Theory. Talks will emphasize results combining the two fields, as well as results in one field that are of interest to researchers in the other.

The conference will be preceded by a 5-day School on Number Theory and Random Matrix Theory. The purpose of the school is to introduce enough background material so that people new to this area can begin research and understand the talks during the conference.
