Description:

This workshop, sponsored by AIM and the NSF, will be devoted to
the emerging theory of Engel structures on four-manifolds, especially
questions of rigidity versus flexibility, and its (potential)
connections with contact topology, dynamics, and four-dimensional
differential topology and gauge theory. 

The workshop is organized by
Yakov Eliashberg, Dieter Kotschick, Emmy Murphy, and Thomas Vogel.

Space and funding is available for a few more participants.
If you would like to participate, please apply by filling
out the on-line form (available at the link above) no later
than November 1, 2016. Applications are open to all, and
we especially encourage women, underrepresented minorities,
junior mathematicians, and researchers from primarily
undergraduate institutions to apply.
