Description:

This workshop, sponsored by AIM and the NSF, will study
the problem of estimating a probability distribution from a small 
data sample it generates. The workshop will investigate 
consolidating a theoretical and algorithmic framework for this topic. 

The workshop is organized by
Alon Orlitsky, Narayana Santhanam, and Krishnamurthy Viswanathan.

Space and funding is available for a few more participants.
If you would like to participate, please apply by filling

than May 15, 2009. Applications are open to all, and
we especially encourage women, underrepresented minorities,
junior mathematicians, and researchers from primarily
undergraduate institutions to apply.
