My main interest in the workshop comes form recent work I did with G. Neumann who will also be participating in the workshop and is related to the proof ofthe conjecture by S. Rhie that a grvaitaional lens consisting of n co-planar masses may produce at most 5n-5 images.
I am very interested in possible connections of Morse theory, singularity theory and geometry of the singular sets of harmonic mappings to gravitational microlensing. One of the problems in calculating the valence of lense maps for palne lens seems precisely relate to the study of a harmonic mapping given by a Cauchy integral of the smooth distribution subtracted the conjugate linear function.
