Deterministic and stochastic Navier-Stokes equations
March 14 to March 18, 2005
at the
American Institute of Mathematics,
San Jose, California
organized by
Yakov Sinai and Jonathan Mattingly
Original Announcement
This workshop will discuss global
solutions to the Navier Stokes equation. The main goal of the workshop
is improved understanding of the three dimensional initial problem.
A number of other settings will be discussed which can inform the
discussion including: stochastic and stationary solutions in two and
three dimentions, the structure of invariant measures, and simplified
model problems. Experts in numerical simulations will participate in
the discussion to lend intuition and inform the analytic discussions
with the wealth of numerical experiments which have been performed.
