This workshop will be devoted to expanding the utility of PreTeXt for authoring stand-alone course materials and research manuscripts. PreTeXt is a powerful tool for authoring open source textbooks since it can create accessible and interactive online versions, as well as other output formats. However, it is not yet widely used for other types of mathematical documents. The goal of this workshop is to identify the features that are missing from PreTeXt that would make it the tool of choice for these other documents types, and to begin to implement them.
The main topics for the workshop are
Determine the steps to eliminate barriers for authoring research manuscripts in PreTeXt.
Identify features, document types, structures, and processes which would encourage the use of PreTeXt for authoring individual course assignments, exams, and other course materials.
Improve ease of use of PreTeXt, both to better enable new users to get started and to make PreTeXt a good choice for these small documents.
