This workshop aims to prepare women and underrepresented minorities for work in academia, industry, and government laboratories. Senior professionals will provide insight on things they wish someone had told them before they left graduate school, some of the surprises they found upon entering the workplace, how they managed to overcome the difficulties they encountered, and some of the mathematics they use in their work.

Workshop activities are intended to provide a constructive framework for direct interaction and discussion among workshop participants on the importance of networking, interviewing, negotiation, and leadership skills for career success. A number of job opportunities will also be discussed. In addition, poster sessions will showcase the work of selected attendees.

The workshop will target mathematicians at various stages of their careers, including graduate students and postdocs.
